Home from England, safe and sound. I've been fed (thanks to my parents) and have also taken a shower so I no longer smell like the inside of a plane. So really, I'm feeling refreshed and human again, but incredibly tired. I knew we'd gotten back into the US of A when, upon entering the immigration area, there was a TSA agent wandering around and telling everyone that we had to keep our cell phones off because it was illegal to have them on. For no apparent reason. Oh capricious and ridiculous airport security, I haven't missed you at all.

I spent most of my time watching movies:

Legend of the Guardians - super, super pretty. Ridiculously pretty. However, I think it probably should have been longer, since there were certain places where more explanation was really needed and it just got glossed over. But I was able to follow it well enough even though I've never read the books. I will say, I could have done without the random slow motion, which was really unnecessary and distracting. I also really didn't like some of what was done with the soundtrack, which was also very distracting. But otherwise, not bad.

The Town - I didn't expect to like this movie at all. I hadn't felt all that thrilled with the previews, and I think Ben Affleck is okay but now anything that exciting. But I really, really liked this movie. It was definitely my favorite of what I watched, either going or coming. It's got some nice tension, some very clever heist stuff and interesting characters. I just occasionally had a hard time getting around the Boston accents.

The American - I watched about twenty minutes of this, because the description sounded interesting and I like George Clooney okay. The first five minutes of the movie are pretty exciting. And then it just sort of... stops. And becomes very slow and arty and Clooney sort of wanders around and talks to random people and it's all very serious and there's a lot of staring. Mike had just finished watching it, so I asked him if I should bother and he said no. So I didn't.

Agora - This movie was very, very good. And very, very depressing. And it made me angry. I wrote more about that on blogspot.

I also FINALLY watched an episode of Sherlock, which was "The Blind Banker." I thought it was excellent and I can't wait to see more.

And now, I just need to try to stay awake for another hour and a half and then I can crawl into bed.

I really enjoyed the episode I want, though the pacing on it felt a little draggy at times - which may more have been just how foggy I was getting, since I watched it about six hours in to a nine hour flight. I'm definitely looking forward to more episodes!

Oh, you just started watching the new BBC Sherlock?
I think you're going to be in for a real treat! I love'em myself and was super excited to learn that there is a second season planned!
