So the symphony performance was pretty fun. Right before it started, one of the middle buttons popped off my shirt. Mike ran down to the little gift shop and bought a souvenir pin for me, and that's what I used to hold my shirt closed. It was actually pretty funny.

Got a rejection back already on Fire in the Belly and it's only been two days since I sent it. That's a new, depressing record. I'm wondering if I want to just cut the end section off of it again and go back to how it originally was, since the guy's biggest complaint was that the story lacked a sense of urgency. Maybe that would help.

Or it might just be that I suck unbelievably at writing short stories and should just give up. That's a possibility too.

You don't suck at short stories. Rejections suck, but they're unfortunately the risk you run with slushing. Just keep trying!
